Parents’ names: Alison & Jesse Schley

Siblings: I have one brother, Braeden Schley.

Position or events: I play a forward in basketball and any position in softball.

Career Highlight: Going from JV one game to starting on varsity the next game.

At what age did you start playing your main sport?
I started playing both of my sports at the age of five.

Who introduced you to the sport?
My parents introduced my brother and I at a very young age to basketball and baseball.

Has this always been your favorite sport?
I have never had a true favorite it all depends on what season it is.

How has balancing academics and athletics been different for you from your freshman year to your senior year?
Balancing academics has always been extremely hard but over the years I’ve learned that no matter what school comes first.

What is your favorite part about this sport?
My favorite part about the sports I play is the friendships I make and the people I am able to meet along the way.

What about it has caused you to stick with it for this long?
The main thing that has caused me to stick with playing is the love I have for the sports and my teammates in each sport.

What would you say is your biggest asset on the court?
I think my biggest asset on the court is my defense.

What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far?
Going from JV one game to starting on varsity the next game.

How does it feel as a senior, to look back throughout high school and see your growth (as a person and athlete)?
Looking back I am very proud of where I have come and how much growth I have made. It is crazy to say I am a senior but I am very happy with where I am.

Do you have any pre-match rituals/routines/superstitions?
In a basketball game I do not tuck my jersey in until I am walking out for tipoff.

Do you take any extra steps to prepare for a big match/game/meet, outside of regular practices?
I treat games more seriously but I try to keep everything very similar.

Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to give a shout out to?
I want to thank all my coaches and teammates for supporting me and pushing me to be the best.

Any hobbies outside ofsports?
I love being with friends and family and being outside.

Favorite song?
My favorite song is “My Girl,” by Dylan Scott or really any country music.

Sports drinks like Gatorade and Powerade or water?
I really only drink water while I’m playing but I love to have Gatorade afterwards.

Future Plans? (college, major, career, etc.)
I am going to college to get my doctorate in physical therapy.
