At what age did you start playing your main sport?
I started playing softball when I was eight or nine.

Who introduced you to the sport?
My parents and sister played it, so I was always around it and watching it.

Has this always been your favorite sport?
Yes, once I started playing it, I never stopped loving it.

How has the balance between academics and athletics changed for you from freshman to senior year?
It definitely got more difficult as I got older, but you learn as you get older how to balance it easier. Using the work time we are given is super important for getting all my schoolwork done. My parents engraved it into my mind that school came first, so keeping my grades up is one of my top priorities.

What is your favorite part about this sport?
The support from my family, coaches and my amazing teammates.

What about it has caused you to stick with it for this long?
Seeing how my skills improved throughout the years, and I would not have been able to stay with it this long if I didn’t have the great family that I do.

Is there a professional athlete you look up to? If so, why?
They aren’t professional, but my siblings were good athletes and I learned most of my skills from them.

What would you say is your biggest asset on the court/field?
My leadership, you can’t win a game alone, so keeping my team motivated and focused is something I make sure happens.

What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far?
Having my whole family at the game I hit my first homerun at our home field.

How does it feel as a senior, to look back throughout high school and see your growth (as a person and athlete)?
My mentality has changed drastically throughout my four years of highschool. As an athlete, having a positive mentality is half the game. As a person, having a good mindset makes life just overall more enjoyable.

Do you have any pre-match rituals/routines/superstitions?
Yes, I pray beforehand and before a softball game, my left sock has to go on before the right one.

Do you take any extra steps to prepare for a big match/game/meet, outside of regular practices?
Before a big softball game, I call my brother, Dylan, he is one of my biggest supporters and he knows just what to say before a big game.

Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to shout out?
Any coach that I’ve ever had the opportunity to play for, and any teammate I have gotten to share the court/field with. I wouldn’t be the player I am without any one of them.

Any hobbies outside of sports?
I love to read and I love to be around my family.

Favorite song?
“Picture” by Kid Rock and Cheryl Crow.

Sports drinks like Gatorade and Powerade or water?
A pregame yellow Gatorade, then water during the game.

Future Plans? (college, major, career, etc.)
The University of Minnesota- Twin Cities, majoring in Animal Science with an emphasis in Pre-Veterinary Science.
