Ronald Frank Wehausen

Ronald Frank Wehausen, 76, Algoma, passed away on September 29, 2025, at his home after a five-year, hard-fought battle with cancer.

Ron was born on October 30, 1948, the first of 8 children, to Loretta (Entringer) and the late Herb Wehausen.

Ron graduated from Algoma High School in 1967. He worked at Algoma Motors as a parts manager and then WS Packaging (now Multi Color Corporation), both in Algoma.

Ron married Elaine (Thomas) (Haubenschild) October 28, 1989. They will have been married 36 years on October 28, 2025.

In his younger years Ron hunted rabbits with his beagles. Ron loved fishing- from right out his front door on Lake Michigan, trolling for brown trout to ice fishing for perch on the bay. 
He was an expert gardener, producing a wide variety of vegetables, spending hours cultivating his large plot.  He and Elaine spent many hours together in the kitchen, canning and freezing the harvest.
Ron didn’t watch much television but he and Elaine made sure to watch every episode of the 48 seasons of “Survivor” together.
Over the years, he enjoyed visits from his nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his wife, Elaine, mother, Loretta; stepchildren - Tracy (Robert) Ancheta, Michael (Monica) Haubenschild and David (Sarah) Haubenschild; sisters Mary (Dale) Dumman, Lori (Jim) Marin and Cheryl(Tony) Bouche; brothers Robert (Roxanne) Wehausen and Brian (Bonnie) Wehausen; sister-in-law Linda Wehausen and many nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.

He was proceded in death by his father, Herb; mother-in-law Hazel“ Moni” Thomas and father-in-law “Ed” Thomas; brother Jim and infant brother, Dennis; nephews, Nathan and Matt; stepson, Glenn.

Private family service to be held Thursday, October 16, 2025 at the Schinderle Funeral Home, Algoma.
