National Library Week at Kewaunee Public Library

Posted

KEWAUNEE – Public libraries boast a wide variety of resources. From books and digital resources to job assistance and creative programming, libraries are key to thriving communities.

National Library Week, April 6-12, is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination and support lifelong learning.

First celebrated in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April.

Kewaunee Public Library is inviting the community to join the celebration.

Whether you may be a longtime patron or a newcomer, now is the perfect time to explore all the library has to offer. Kewaunee Public Library provides unique programs and services such as free Wi-Fi, digital collections, a makerspace cart, STEAM programs, senior social gatherings, kids cooking classes, storytime and Baby and Me programs, ensuring that everyone has access to resources which can educate, inspire and connect.

Whether someone is preparing for a career change, launching a business, raising a family or embracing retirement, Kewaunee Public Library is here to support that journey. Libraries serve as hubs for learning, creativity and connection, helping people of all ages explore new ideas and opportunities.

Join the Kewaunee Public Library for special National Library Week events:

• Open House: Wednesday, April 9 from 4-6 p.m. Come celebrate the accessibility improvements which have been made to the library’s doors and restrooms.

• Tiny Art Show: Happening all week. Come play in the interactive play center or take on the challenge of daily scavenger hunts.

This National Library Week, take time to rediscover the library and see how it draws us together as a community. Whether you’re visiting for books, resources or a place to connect, Kewaunee Public Library is here for you.

There is also a free monthly newsletter on the library’s website to keep the community informed on what’s happening at the library. The City of Kewaunee is currently conducting a survey to obtain input on the vision for Community Gathering Spaces for the future. The community is invited to share their thoughts. This survey can be found at the library or on the city website.
