The 18th annual Algoma Halloween Walk returns Oct. 24 with family fun and a new community give-back challenge

Posted

ALGOMA – A beloved community Halloween tradition is returning this fall. The 18th annual Algoma Halloween Walk will take place on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon at Algoma High School, located at 1715 Division St. in Algoma.

Families are invited to dress in their favorite Halloween costumes and enjoy a morning filled with spooky fun, festive activities and family-friendly entertainment.

This year’s event will feature returning favorites, including the beloved Thomas the Train ride and bouncy houses, providing plenty of opportunities for children to play and celebrate the Halloween season with your favorite Disney Princesses, superheroes and more.

Adding even more color and creativity to the festivities, Nala of Zara Studio and Co., a local Kewaunee artist, will join the Halloween Walk to offer Halloween-themed face painting. Nala creates colorful, creative experiences for all ages, and children will have the opportunity to bring their favorite spooky and festive characters to life.

A tradition of giving back to the Algoma Community

The Algoma Halloween Walk prides itself on being more than just a morning of Halloween fun. For 18 years, this community tradition has brought families, volunteers, students and local supporters together to create memorable experiences for children and families throughout the area.

Giving back to the community is an important part of the Halloween Walk’s mission. By creating opportunities for community involvement, celebrating local talent and supporting the organizations that make Algoma special, the event strives to make a positive impact beyond Halloween.

The Algoma Halloween Walk Give Back Challenge

This year, the Halloween Walk is putting a new spotlight on Algoma’s Middle and High School students through the Algoma Halloween Walk Give Back Challenge.

Middle and high school clubs, organizations and sports teams are invited to participate by volunteering, helping decorate the school’s hallways and representing their organizations during the event. This new initiative encourages students to give back, demonstrate school spirit and creativity and become more involved in a long-standing community tradition.

Community members attending the Halloween Walk will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite participating student organization. The organization receiving the most votes will win the top prize, with prizes starting at $100.

The challenge is designed to recognize the dedication, creativity and community spirit of Algoma’s students while helping participating clubs, teams and organizations raise funds for their activities and goals.

Organizers hope this new initiative will make the Halloween Walk more student-centered than ever while strengthening the connection between local schools and the community. By investing in students and the organizations they represent, the Halloween Walk is helping celebrate the next generation of community leaders.
