Viking Octantis (Duluth to Toronto) arrives July 5

Eighth annual Blessing of the Fleet

Posted

ALGOMA – The day after Independence Day, Algoma will welcome its fourth cruise ship of the season at Crescent Beach and Boardwalk.

The Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce has continued to collaborate with the community to provide Friendly Algoma guidebooks to cruise ship passengers which advertise local businesses and activities like hikes on Ahnapee Trail.

There will be live, outdoor music on both sides of the Ahnapee River at von Stiehl Winery’s Summer Concert Series with Kate Voss from 12:30-4 p.m. and at Smashed On The Rocks Saloon with Luma Knotty, Daizy Roots and Wet Possum until 11 p.m.

After the cruise ship departs, the night will finish with the eighth annual Blessing of the Fleet. All water vessels are welcome.

Track Viking Octantis at www.cruisemapper.com/?imo=9863194.

There will be two more stops made by cruise ships during the 2025 season: Sunday, Aug. 3 and Saturday, Aug. 16. To learn more, visit www.visitalgomawi.com/events/united-states/wisconsin/algoma/community-events/2025-viking-cruise-ship-visits/.
